Shannon Investment Management (SIM) serves as a fee-only investment advisor, providing investment guidance and managing client investment accounts on a discretionary basis. We seek to help clients benefit from thoughtful, long-term exposure to global capital markets with consistent attention to managing fees and expenses.

Our compensation is based solely on the amount of client assets under management, and, as such, we have a shared interest in thoughtfully growing your assets over time. SIM receives no commissions on purchases or sales, nor any other investment product or security in which you invest through us. We have no interest in "churning" your investment portfolio nor favoring one "fund family" over another.

Currently, there is no minimum for account size—though we reserve the right to institute such in the future. The decision to use SIM needs to be a suitable, economically-viable choice for the client and factors in the possibilities for achieving diversification without the client being overrun by trading costs. SIM will help clients through this decision-making process and will allow existing clients to be "grandfathered in" should a minimum account size subsequently be imposed.

The SIM fee is an annual 0.60% (60 basis points) on the market value of assets under management, payable quarterly in arrears.

A fee table as required by the Massachusetts Securities Division can be accessed here.

An account will be set up in your name at Interactive Brokers LLC, which will serve as custodian of the assets and be responsible for executing trades, reporting investment activity, and safekeeping holdings. It will be necessary for you to give SIM (or its representative) trading authority to manage the account trading.

SIM is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) with Jim Shannon serving as its Investment Adviser (IA), also known as Investment Adviser Representative (IAR). A firm’s “registration” is with either the Securities and Exchange Commission or a state’s securities agency—generally depending on the amount of assets under management. SIM is registered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Securities Division.
